Expert Tips

This recipe was tested in a slow cooker with heating elements in the side and bottom of the cooker, not in a cooker that stands only on a heated base. For slow cookers with just a heated base, follow the manufacturer’s directions for layering ingredients and choosing a temperature.

Beef is a good source of vitamin B12. Our bodies need B12 for energy and to maintain a healthy nervous system.

This was absolutely delicious! I put a dollop of Daisy sour cream on my portion and that made it even better! It was also easy! Will definitely make again!

This recipe is not bad but the beef and shiitake were overpowered by carrots and potatoes. I think I would make again, but maybe use only 9 potatoes and at least a pound and half to two pounds of meat.
